Russia Plans $1.2M-Entry Crypto Exchange for the Rich
Russia is launching a state-backed cryptocurrency exchange targeting high-net-worth individuals, with a minimum entry threshold of 100 million rubles ($1.2 million). The platform, developed under the Experimental Legal Regime by the Ministry of Finance and Central Bank, aims to circumvent international sanctions and facilitate cross-border transactions outside traditional banking systems.
Access will be restricted to ’super qualified investors’ meeting stringent financial criteria, including an annual income exceeding 50 million rubles. This initiative reflects Moscow’s strategic pivot toward digital assets as economic isolation grows.
